The founder of Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN), Her Excellency, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu led BRECAN delegates to attend the 2018 Seattle Global Summit on Breast Health and Cancer Control, which took place on 15 – 17 October 2018 at Seattle, Washington, USA.
The global summit, which focused on
Integration of Breast Care Strategies into Existing Health Systems, attracted a lot of paper presentations; worthy of mention is: “Internet Access and Breast Cancer Awareness Among Akure Residents,” presented by Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, Ifeoluwa Awoyelu and Austin’s Otabor, all of Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria.
The summit provided a platform for all stakeholders to brainstorm and share knowledge on how to tackle and raise awareness on breast cancer as a life threatening disease, and improve on breast health strategies across the globe, among others.
