Ibadan protest march against the abduction of over 200 school girls in Chibok, Bornu State was held on Wednesday April 30, 2014 under the auspices of Oyo State Concerned Women’s Group made up of some
And we are glad we did. While the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State received us, the Oyo State Governor sent his Secretary to the State Government to represent him. Hmmmh, well, the Secretary said that our message would be delivered to the Governor. They kept reassuring us that the federal government was on top of the matter. We hope soooo! We were urged to keep praying! . However, we are of the view that ACTION is urgently needed at this season of anomie than prayers! Great support from the Police who saw us through the march which was a long walk indeed and under the sun! And the media, they were fantastic. Our gratitude goes to Teju Specialist Hospital that provided the ambulance and we were lucky that there was no cause to use it. We appreciate them all. We are creating a community face book page for this event as well for participants and the world at large to have access to information on any development concerning this initiative and related advocacy issues.
