Members of the Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN) hit the streets of Akure, the Ondo State capital in a mother of all ‘Jog For Life’ campaign to educate residents of the state on the need to check their breast regularly and present at the hospital if they feel any lump.
The jog was led by the founder and the wife of the Ondo State Governor, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu as participants demonstrated self breast examination.
In the words of the National President of BRECAN, Mrs. Juliet Ogbogu, ‘Jog For Life’ is an initiative of BRECAN that seeks to increase breast health awareness among women and also an avenue to celebrate breast cancer survivors.
The event featured among others aerobics, dance competition, raffle draw, free breast examination. Also in attendance was the wife of the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Chief Mrs. Ajewole Ajayi, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Omowumi Edet, Mrs.jumoke Abegunde functionaries.
