BRECAN to Include Focus on Prostate Cancer In 2023

BRECAN is expanding her frontiers to include a focus on prostate cancer sensitization from 2023. This decision was reached at the organization’s strategic meeting held in Akure on Wednesday, December 14th, 2022. The strategic meeting provided a platform for executive heads across the six chapters to evaluate BRECAN’s programmes and activity in the past twenty-five years as well as plan for the future. In 2020, during the launch of the World Health Organization’s project 90-70-90 to end cervical cancer, BRECAN seized the global flag-off to add cervical cancer as part of her campaign. Now, following the rise in the spate of prostate cancer cases among men in the country, BRECAN has also decided to heed the call to begin awareness creation about the disease.
