Regular screening has been identified as one of the panaceas for tackling the high incidence of cancer deaths in Africa. The problem of late presentation continues to pose a  major threat to cancer management and treatment in developing countries of the world.

August 24th, 2022, hundreds of female residents of Ibadan, the Oyo state capital benefited from free breast and cervical cancer screening spearheaded by BRECAN in conjunction with Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN), Patella Care Foundation (PCF) and Precious Gems Hospital. The mega-outreach which was held at the iconic Mapo Hall at the heart of the City saw hundreds of women especially market women from the nearby markets of Ojee, Ojaaba, Beere and their environs benefit from the free breast and cervical screening. Female Police officers from the nearby Mapo Police Divisional Headquarters who provided security for the event also benefited from this outreach.

The event had the support of the paramount ruler of Ibadan Land, His Imperial Majesty Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun, The Olubadan of Ibadan Land who approved the free use of Mapo Hall for the exercise. An advocacy visit paid to the Olubadan by BRECAN a few months earlier facilitated this support.
